Kelsey Rae Long, 29, was last seen in the early morning hours of October 27, 2021. She was supposed to be traveling on Interstate 81 North from Abingdon, Virginia to the Roanoke/Salem, Virginia area. She was reportedly in the Dublin, Virginia area near I-81, Exit 98, around 3:00 a.m. on October 27. Kelsey has not been seen or heard from since.
Kelsey has ties to the Wise County, Virginia area, the Roanoke/Salem, Virginia area, and the Kingsport, Tennessee area.
It is worth noting that the website, NamUs, displays Kelsey’s last known location with coordinates of 36.8586,-82.7832, which is a wooded area in the southern end of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, just south of both Tritt Road and the South Fork Powell River. It is not clear where NamUs obtained these coordinates or information, or if this is simply coordinates the website used to indicate that Kelsey was last known to be in the Big Stone Gap area.
When last seen, Kelsey may have been wearing sweatpants or athletic wear. It is believed that she had a backpack at the time of her disappearance.
Kelsey would now be 33 years old. She is described as being 5’3” to 5’5” tall and weighing between 170 and 185 pounds. She has brown eyes and dark brown thick hair, which she is known to generally keep longer than shoulder length. She has a linear lower abdominal scar. Her ears are pierced, and she is known to wear hoop style earrings. At one time, she had a hoop through her nostril, but it is not certain whether it was present at the time of her disappearance or thereafter.
Kelsey has two known tattoos, one on her middle finger that reads “love always” and one on her ring finger that reads “Kj” with a heart to the left of the letters. She is rumored to have a small heart tattoo underneath one of her eyes, but that has not been confirmed.
